CANUTILLO, Texas (KVIA) -- The Canutillo Independent School District announced Wednesday that, effective this week, all Canutillo ISD students will receive free admission to Canutillo High School athletic events.

District officials say this initiative is meant to encourage students to support their classmates, strengthen connections across the District and build school spirit throughout the Canutillo ISD community.

“We want our students to feel connected to their schools and proud to be part of the Canutillo ISD family,” Superintendent Dr. Josue Borrego said. “There is nothing better than seeing our students come together to support their classmates, celebrate our schools and fill the stands with Eagle pride.”

Free admission is available to any student enrolled in a Canutillo ISD school during the current school year.

Students must meet the following requirements to receive free admission:
● High school and middle school students must present their Canutillo ISD school ID.
● Elementary students must wear a Canutillo ISD school shirt.

Students who do not present their school ID or are not wearing a school shirt will be asked to pay the regular student admission price. The free admission applies to all Canutillo High School athletic events and is available throughout the current school year.

District officials say families who have already purchased a student season pass do not need to take any action. Those purchases will be automatically refunded to the original form of payment.
