ABC-7 Storm Track Weather: Warmer, Drier Pattern Takes Over Before Storms Return

The Borderland is heading into a warmer and mostly drier weather pattern over the next few days as high pressure builds across the Desert Southwest.

By Friday and Saturday, storm chances will become more limited across the lowlands, with most of the activity favoring the area mountains. The biggest story will be the heat, as Friday and Saturday are expected to be the warmest days of the week.

Storms Make a Comeback Sunday

The weather pattern is expected to become a little more active beginning Sunday as a large low-pressure system moves inland from the Pacific Northwest.

As this system pushes the upper-level high eastward, winds aloft will shift to a more moist southerly flow. This will bring additional moisture into the Borderland and create a more favorable environment for widespread thunderstorms.
