LOUISVILLE, KY. – September 12, 2026 – El Paso Locomotive FC defeated Louisville City FC 2-1 on Saturday night, extending its winning streak to seven games.

Alex Méndez opened the scoring from the penalty spot after Rubio Rubín was fouled in the box by Louisville’s Brandon Dayes.

Louisville responded with pressure in the attacking half, but the Locos doubled their lead just before halftime. Rubín found the back of the net following an end-to-end play from Locomotive that was started in the defensive half by Nico Cardona.

Locomotive entered the second half with a 2-0 advantage and carried its lead into the final 15 minutes. Louisville cut the deficit in half in the 77th minute when Manny Perez headed one into the back of the net.

El Paso’s defense held firm over the final minutes, keeping Louisville off the scoresheet and securing the 2-1 victory.

The Locos are back on the road on Saturday, September 19, traveling to Phoenix, Arizona, to face Phoenix Rising FC. Kickoff is set for 8:00 p.m. MT.
