ABC-7 StormTrack Weather: Dry and comfortable weekend before more storm chances increase Tuesday

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- A mostly dry and comfortable weekend is ahead for the Borderland. Saturday through Monday tracking to bring plenty of sunshine, with only a slight chance for rain in eastern Hudspeth and Otero Counties.

Drier air moving into the region will cut down on rain chances and also bring cooler mornings and more sunshine during the afternoon. High temperatures will stay in the upper 80s to lower 90s, which is typical for this time of September.

The weather changes on Tuesday. Moisture will quickly return to the region, bringing a much better chance for rain and thunderstorms. Higher moisture levels will continue through much of next week.

Looking ahead, storms could produce heavy rain because of the extra moisture in the air. That means the risk of flash flooding will also increase, especially from the middle to the end of next week. Temperatures will also drop, with highs potentially 4 to 7 degrees below normal.
