EPPD: Motorcyclist dead after rear-ending truck, then hit by truck in opposite lane

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA)-- The El Paso Police Department says a 26-year-old motorcyclist is dead after a crash early Sunday morning in Far East El Paso.

According to police, officers were sent out to the 2300 block of Zaragoza for a crash involving a motorcycle around 2:51 am, Sunday, Sept. 20.

EPPD says the department's Special Traffic Investigations unit responded to assist on the call.

Police investigation revealed a Honda CVR was traveling northbound and rear-ended a 2002 Ford F150 that was also traveling northbound. The driver of the Honda CVR was thrown from the motorcycle and was on the southbound lane of Zaragoza when struck by a 2020 Ford F150.

Police say the motorcyclist died from his injuries sustained in the collision, and the investigation is ongoing.

Officials say this is the 45th traffic fatality of 2026, compared to 43 last year.
