Man dead after shooting in East El Paso neighborhood

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- Police found a 32-year-old man dead after receiving a call about a shooting Monday morning in East El Paso.

According to El Paso Police Department Sergeant Javier Sambrano, it happened around 6:20 a.m. at the 1700 block of Charlie Smith Drive. That's off Saul Kleinfeld Drive.

Sgt. Sambrano said the Texas Department of Public Safety helped take the suspect into custody within El Paso County.

He also said the shooting was a "family-related" incident.

The investigation is ongoing.
