Residents evacuated after fire at retirement center

Residents at Mountain View Healthcare Center, located on the 1600 block of Murchison in Central El Paso, are back in their rooms following an early morning fire.

Flames broke out around 3:00 a.m. Wednesday. Investigators believe one of the heaters in the room caught fire.

Residents and staff were evacuated safely; they were were allowed back by 5:00 a.m.

No word on the cost of the damage.
