I-25 shut down after fuel truck crash

El Paso, Texas (KVIA) - Doña Ana County Fire Rescue crews responded to a crash involving a large fuel truck and pickup truck on interstate 25 near Hatch, just before 6 p.m. Sunday. 

Following the crash, the fuel truck caught on fire. Four people were transported to local hospitals with serious injuries. 

All lanes of I-25 in the area are currently closed as emergency crews work to extinguish the fire and clear the scene. The roadway is expected to remain closed for about three hours.

Arrey Derry Fire Department and Spaceport America fire crews assisted DAFR at the scene. 

Drivers are urged to avoid the area and use an alternate route while emergency crews work.
