Coffee enthusiasts explore Downtown El Paso through cafe tasting event

El PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- Downtown El Paso hosted a coffee crawl Saturday that allowed participants to sample local cafes, coffee, and baked goods across 10 area establishments.

The event started with check-in at 8:30 a.m. at Aloft Downtown, and participants were able to start exploring the cafes, some of which they may not have attended before.

For a $20 fee, participants received eight coffee tastings, two pastry tastings, a punch card, and a souvenir mug to mark the occasion.

Participants had the choice to select any 10 coffee establishments to visit in whatever sequence they preferred, sampling coffee, baked goods, and the cafe culture of downtown El Paso.

Ivan Bernal, the marketing and communications manager for the Downtown Management District, noted the positive effect such events have on local commerce.

"200 people to ten different coffee shops in one day. Within just a matter of hours. And there are so many places that people weren't even aware of. So that's what I think is very special about it.",” Bernal said.
