ABC-7 StormTrack Weather: Tracking increasing rain chances this week in the Borderland

Last night and early this morning, we saw a few showers and thunderstorms in the Borderland. Only trace amounts were recorded at El Paso International Airport.

Isolated storm chances are low for this evening, most of the action will be in West New Mexico/Eastern Arizona... one or two stray storms are possible, but not likely. Chances will increase at the end of the week!

We are keeping an eye on Tropical Storm Trudy in the Pacific Ocean. It has 60 mile per hour sustained wind gusts and slowly moving northwest. This storm is expected to make a track similar to Hurricane Simon and downgrade to a Tropical Depression by tomorrow. From there, a low pressure system connected to a dip in the jet stream off of the California Coast will funnel the moisture into the Borderland by Wednesday.
