New recruits took Oath of Enlistment during Amigo Airsho

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- Sunday, crowds gathered at Biggs Airfield for the Amigo Airsho, meanwhile, 75 individuals took their Oath of Enlistment for the armed services, being surrounded by friends and family.

Recruits from the U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Navy, and the U.S. Army took their oath during the airshow at Fort Bliss, which was recently recognized as the nation's top recruiting installation.

A brief speech was held by Fort Bliss leadership before the recruits recited the Oath listed below:

I, _, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God.

Some of the individuals spoke with ABC-7 after the ceremony, saying they wanted to enlist in the service to continue the family legacy of defending the United States. Others said they wanted to take a new path in life, and for them, it meant enlisting.
