LAS CRUCES, New Mexico - It was a rough night for the NMSU Aggies Wednesday at Aggie Memorial Stadium.

The Aggies were shutout at home by the Jacksonville State Gamecocks by a final score of 24-0.

NMSU kept the game close in the first half only down 7-0 at halftime, but the second half was a different story with the Gamecocks scoring 17 unanswered points.

NMSU's overall record drops to 3-5, 2-2 in Conference USA play.

Jax State extended their win streak to five, and with the victory is now bowl eligible.

The Gamecocks are currently tied for first place in CUSA with a 4-0 conference record, 6-2 overall.

Things don't get any easier for the Aggies.

They'll be back in action Saturday, November 7 when they host the other top team in the conference, the Liberty Flames.

Kickoff for that game is at 6 p.m. from Aggie Memorial Stadium.
