Man arrested in Arizona for allegedly killing woman in Central El Paso

Dec. 5, 2014 Update:

Law enforcement have arrested a 22-year-old man in the death of a 20-year-old woman in Central El Paso Thursday.

Geomel Shaffa, 22, of El Paso, was arrested in Eloy, Arizona.

Eloy Police arrested Shaffa and he is being held on a murder warrant in El Paso.

El Paso Police say that Shaffa was responsible for the death of Christina Bukovcik, whom police call his girlfriend, inside an apartment at 5041 Alabama Thursday.

Shaffa was charged with aggravated assault of a date, family or household member with a weapon and assault of a public servant for allegedly thowing his wife from the third story of their East Side apartment complex in October 2013.

Dec. 4, 2014 story: El Paso Police are investigating what they call a suspicious death in Central El Paso.

The woman’s body was found in the 5000 block of Alabama. Police say the woman, who was a Fort Bliss soldier, appeared to be in her 20s.

El Paso Police’s Crimes Against Persons was called to the scene.
