Feds, state restore Providence Memorial Hospital’s status

Providence Memorial Hospital has been found to be in compliance following a comprehensive inspection of the hospital and successful implementation of its corrective action plan, according to hospital officials.

The Texas Department of State Health Services and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services found Providence in compliance on Dec. 29.

The hospital’s Medicare and Medicaid certification has been restored to “deemed” status, signifying compliance with all regulations that govern the safety and quality of hospitals, hospital officials said.

“We are pleased to have successfully completed the regulatory process. The entire team at Providence Memorial Hospital is committed to serving the healthcare needs of the El Paso community, and we look forward to continuing the hospital’s more than sixty-year legacy of delivering safe, high-quality care to our patients,” said Eric Evans, Sierra Providence Health Network market CEO.
