El Paso Electric’s Eastside Operations Center

El Paso Electric (EPE) has officially opened a new Operations Center in east El Paso County. Approximately 235 employees from the Company’s Transmission, Substations, Relay and Distribution, Warehouse and Fleet Services departments will report there.
This project is part of EPE’s ongoing strategy to modernize and enhance its systems and customer service facilities.

The Operations Center was built on currently undeveloped property located at Montana Avenue and Zaragoza Boulevard. The site is adjacent to the proposed Montana Power Plant site, but is independent of that facility. The Operations Center will be strategically situated in the fastest growing area of EPE’s service territory with easy access to several main transportation arteries.

In addition to serving growth in East El Paso, the new Operations Center will enhance customer service and provide other important benefits to the community by:

Allowing crews and employees to respond more quickly to service calls and emergencies in the local area and system-wide;

Creating new local business opportunities and economic activity;

Increasing operational efficiencies through co-location of several EPE departments; and

Generating increased tax revenues for El Paso County.
