Couple displaced by house fire in Central El Paso

It took more than 30 firefighters to bring a Condition 3 house fire under control in Central El Paso Thursday night.

Fifty percent of the house was damaged by fire with the entire home being damaged by smoke.

The couple, who were alerted to the fire by a smoke alarm, living in the home suffered minor bruises and were treated for smoke inhalation.

They are expected to be okay.

The El Paso Red Cross is helping the couple get a place to stay overnight.

Fire officials said a rough estimate of the damage is between $80,000 and $100,000.
