Police say Carl Lamb offered $150,000 to have his wife killed

ABC-7 has new details about a man who allegedly tried to hire someone to kill his wife while in jail.

Police say he offered hundreds of thousands of dollars for someone to “take out” his wife.

The warrant ABC-7 got from the District Attorneys office Friday gives the details of a plan a husband had to have his wife killed and it reads like a movie.

Murder for hire, $150,000 and a undercover detective.

26- year-old Carl Lamb was in the El Paso County Jail for a unknown offense.

The warrant says on Feb. 18 a source contacted detectives saying Lamb had approached him.

According to the report the source said Lamb was looking for someone who could quote “take out his wife.”

The source said Lamb provided a note with his wife’s address, the vehicle she drives and on the back of the note credit card pins to his and his wife’s credit cards.

The report says Lamb asked the source if someone on the outside could help with the murder. Also saying there would be insurance money to be collected and he would share it with anyone that was involved.

Lamb agreed to release his personal items from the annex which included a set of keys, credit cards, and a cell phone that would help the person in killing his wife.

The warrant says investigators met up with Lambs wife to make sure all the information they had gotten was correct and it was. Credit card numbers, phone numbers and even the exact times that Lambs wife would be at home was correct.

This is when investigators sent an undercover detective to work the case.

Lamb arranged for the undercover agent to pick up his personal belongings from the jail annex.

The undercover agent also met up with the source who handed him a written note by Lamb asking him to kill his wife

Saying the I phone was a down payment along with a blueprint of the home Lamb’s wife lived in.

The report says in March Lamb spoke with the undercover detective. The detective told Lamb he had seen a car seat in his wife’s car. Lamb told him it belonged to his wife’s son and that the boy was leaving to Hawaii to see his father.

At the time Lamb also agreed to pay the undercover detective $150,000 for the murder.

Lamb was re-booked for criminal solicitation and his bond is set at $500,000.
