Chihuahuas’ Cody Decker placed on 7-day disabled list; World Series champ to pitch against El Paso Thursday
El Paso Chihuahuas infielder, noted prankster and Internet superstar Cody Decker has been placed on the team’s seven-day disabled list.
The team also announced it has activated right-handed pitcher Marcos Mateo from the seven-day disabled list.
Through 49 games this season Decker has 39 hits and 11 homeruns.

The Sacramento River Cats, the Triple-A affiliate of the 2014 World Series champion San Francisco Giants, will play the Chihuahuas in El Paso Thursday through Sunday.
Jake Peavy, who won the Cy Young Award in 2007, is slated to start for the River Cats on Thursday. The veteran pitcher Has been in Major League Baseball for 14 years and is a three-time MLB All-Star.
Peavy won the World Series each of the last two seasons with the Boston Red Sox (2013) and the San Francisco Giants (2014).
The homestand gets started with Thrifty Thursday and YouTube Night. Fans should be ready for some in-game shenanigans inspired by favorite YouTube videos while enjoying $2 specials until 8:30 p.m.
