Las Cruces man arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl
Las Cruces Police arrested a man for allegedly raping a teenage a 13-year-old girl.
Anthony Bramblett, 39, is charged with criminal sexual penetration of a minor, a third degree felony. He was arrested early Thursday morning.
In the statement of facts, it says the accuser told detectives Bramblett had been abusing her since the fourth grade.
Police say Bramblett allegedly abused the girl in the second story bathroom of his home.
Investigators say the girl told a relative what happened and that’s when they went to police.
A police department spokesman warns abuse many times comes from people close to your children.
“Make sure you know who they’re hanging out with and where they’re at and what they’re doing,” said Dan Trujillo, police spokesman. “It’s always good to keep close tabs even on people who are close friends or maybe close family members whatever the case may be. Make sure your kids are with someone you trust as a parent.”
According to police documents, Bramblett denied he raped the girl and denied being in the bathroom even though a witness told investigators she saw him coming out of the bathroom.
