A Call to Arms: Arm Wrestling Tournament Set for July 4th

doesn’t love bbq? … but i’ll you… one of the cooler and more unique sporting events is taking place on saturday.. perez: “it’s a true sport. it’s something that’s practiced all over the world.” and this weekend… it’ll be practiced here in el paso at 5 points bistro… el pasoans will be throwing down in the fourth of july arm wrestling tournament … it might sound funny… but these guys are good… perez: “this is not bar room ar wrestling. what we do is a legitimate sport with over 50 rules, two referees, there are sanctioning bodies that hold tournaments all over the world.” on cam: danny”okay, arm wrestling might not be my thing, but the guys that actually know what they’re doing will be in action this weekend.” perez: “well a lot o it is speed, strength, and technique. it’s more of a chess match than you think. people have an idea that arm wrestlers are these big burley guys but it’s as complicated as any sport out there.” on cam there’s classes available for kids and teens… registration is from 10am to 11:30am… again, this saturday at 5 points bistro…. the chihuahuas exploded
