146 students tested for TB, 17 still need to be screened

The El Paso Health Department only has to track down 17 more students who were possibly exposed to tuberculosis. As of Wednesday afternoon, 146 had been tested.

This comes after someone at Frank Macias Elementary had active TB, potentially exposing the entire second grade.

The department’s staff will continue to contact those that haven’t been seen yet, even saying it’s willing to make home visits.

The department said it expects to release the results publicly next week.
