Mexican Singer Joan Sebastian Loses Battle with Cancer, Dead at 64

Award-winning Mexican singer, Joan Sebastian, has lost his battle to cancer, according to several online reports.

Julin Figueroa, Sebastian’s son, and Maribel Guardia, the singer’s ex-wife, confirmed the news, according to the Latin Times.

Sebastian died at his home in Juliantla, Guerrero, Mexico. He was battling a form of bone cancer he was first diagnosed with in the late 1990’s.

Just last year, Sebastian was scheduled to perform in El Paso with “Los Tigres del Norte.” The concert was postponed because of Sebastian’s illness, then later canceled.

Sebastian’s last Facebook message was posted July 4th. The singer said, “Liberty: Defend it. Value it. Respect it. Understand it. Congratulations USA.”
