NMSU Football losses in blowout to Florida
Gators cruised to a 61-13 win over New Mexico State in Jim McElwain’s first game as head coach. Florida has now won 26 straight season openers, the longest active streak in the nation.
McElwain said he was going to play both quarterbacks, and he did just that. Harris played the first and fourth quarters and went 14 of 19 for 215 yards and two touchdowns, while Grier played the middle two quarters and finished 15 of 17 for 164 yards and two touchdowns.
