Estela’s Escuelas: First Tee Program

school students will soon be learning in p.e. class. on today’s estela’s escuelas — we take you to monte vista elementary … where coaches were introduced to the “first tee national schoo program.” golf is being introduced in all las cruces elementary schools. farmer’s insurance teamed up with the sun country junior golf foundation to help the coaches work on their swing and curriculum! the coaches will then help students learn golf basics plus nine core values like honesty, integrity, sportsmanship, respect, confidence, responsibility, perseverance, courtesy and judgement: bruce buchman: “so that’s wha we’re excited about: the teaching, the nine core values and giving the kids the opportunity to do something to keep them involved.” tommy esparza: “having a opportunity to be active. doesn’t always have to be running. doesn’t have to be aerobic activity. but it takes a lot of skill to hit a ball. i think golf is a sport that whether you’re good at it or you’re not, you can have a good time.” it’s not all about golf, though. the curriculum also includes other activities to get kids more physically, socially and emotionally fit! the las cruces public schools is one of 1- thousand school districts nationwide with the first teen national school program. one of the largest muslim groups in texas says it does not fault police and school officials who
