More than 700 inmates at the El Paso County Jail Annex sick

More than 700 inmates at the El Paso County Jail Annex woke up sick Saturday morning.

According to El Paso County Sheriff’s deputies, they are experiencing mild symptoms of diarrhea. The inmates are currently being monitoring by the contracted medical services provider.

Officials say it will work with local and state health authorities to determine the cause of the illness. Visitation will continue Saturday as usual.
