Chihuahuas fan favorite Cody Decker signs with Royals’ minor league system
El Paso Chihuahuas infielder Cody Decker has signed a minor league contract with the Kansas City Royals.
Decker, after seven years in the minors, was called up to the big leagues by San Diego this past season. He played in eight games for the San Diego Padres.
Decker played the past two seasons for the Chihuahuas, the Triple-A team for the Padres, hitting 48 homeruns in those two seasons.
Decker was named to the Pacific Coast League’s all-star team in 2015 and participated in the homerun derby.
