The Santa Claus debate: Is he real?
He’s a man just about everyone in this world recognizes: Santa Claus.
Some have seen him magically appear in homes, we’ve seen him in movies
and even at the mall, but one parent emailed ABC-7 saying a teacher at St.Marks Middle School told his daughter Santa isn’t real.
“I was so upset the other day because she came home from school telling us that her teacher is telling the students that there is no Santa Claus. I don’t feel it was right of them doing that no matter what they are preaching in that class,” wrote the concerned parent.
He added that his daughter had just written a list for Santa Claus and now she was so sad she didn’t want to send it.
Santa not real? How could that be when so many know who Santa is?
“Santa Claus– he’s about 6-foot-4,” said Duncan Medlock.
“He’s fat with a long beard,” added Jesus Sotelo.
One girl even told ABC-7 what he smells like.
“A fluffy old man that smells like milk and cookies,” Geneska Ramirez.
St. Marks Middle School sent this statement:
“St. Mark’s is a Christian school and we celebrate all facets of the Christmas season. We celebrate Santa Claus and all other holiday traditions. However, being a Christian school our focus is celebrating the birth of our savior, Jesus Christ.”
ABC-7 will be tracking Santa Claus on Christmas Eve.
