Royals Hire Quirk to Manage Class A Affiliate

Former Royals catcher Jamie Quirk and manager for the Chihuahuas, has been hired as the manager of the Class A Advanced Wilmington Blue Rocks for the Kansas City Royals Organization.

Quirk finished last season as the manager of the Chihuahuas after starting the season with San Antonio. He was promoted to AAA when Pat Murphy accepted the job as the Padres manager.

Quirk helped lead the Chihuahuas to the division title and a playoff birth.

Quirk played 18 years in the majors, 11 with the Royals.
