A storm system arrives late Friday- dropping temperatures and picking up winds through the weekend
The El Paso International Airport set a new record at the airport Thursday afternoon. The record high temperature at the airport was 74 degrees, breaking the old record of 73 degrees. The average high is 57 degrees temperatures have been running above average. Friday will be another above average afternoon with temperature reaching the mid 70’s.
The mild weather will cease through the weekend. A storm system and a strong cold front will move into the Borderland Friday night. Wind gusts will exceed 35 mph, sustaining southwesterly winds increasing between 15 to 25 mph. The storm system will produce rain showers and and snow showers for the mountains. There are a few different events this weekend, be mindful of the weather changes.
