Two Dead in East El Paso House Fire
El Paso police confirm that two people died in a house fire on the 1800 block of Tom Bolt in east El Paso. Police and fire crews were called to the scene just before 11 p.m. Friday night. It took firefighters around thirty minutes to get the fire under control. Police say a man died in the home, while a woman was transported to an area hospital where she died. Fire officials tell us she was a 60 year old woman. Police are not releasing the names of the people in respect for the family who has not yet been notified.
So far there’s no word on what started the fire, but the crimes against persons unit and the fire marshal’s office are investigating. They are treating the area as a crime scene until they can rule out foul play. Police say that means the area will be blocked off until the morning.
