Vigil held for Deal brothers and Shanon Del Rio
a crash on christmas eve. brothers — joshua and isaiah deal along with shannon del rio were driving to their mother’s house when police say joel garcia was driving drunk and crashed into them. he’s currently out on bond. this evening joshua and isaiah parents held a vigil for their boys — and they also had a message for everyone this holiday season: abc-7’s jerry najera is live with the story … bob the vigil tonight carried a lot of emotion. many came to support the deal brothers parents but this vigil in many ways is also a reminder of the tragedy drinking and driving can bring. in a dimly lit spot off of loop 375-the crowds gathered. friends and family of the deal brothers lit candles in their memory. in the center ricardo and dee cisneros they are joshua and isiah’s mother and father. it’s been a long year for the two “firs it’s shock because you don’t believe it then you grieve then it’s constant ups and downs” the parents also lit candles by the roadside memorial only yards away from the crash. that changed their lives. and even though many have come in support and offer hugs of compassion they say there isn’t a day that goes by that they don’t remember the boys “song that come on. smells movies” “i mi isaiahs laugh..he had a very infectious laugh” “anything. everything is a reminder” but as much as this vigil is to reflect on the joshua-isaiah and shannon it’s also a stark reminder to everyone about the danger of drinking and driving. “if you plan o going out and having fun great but be responsible and have away home” joel garcia is out on bond he is facing three counts of intoxicated manslaughter.
