Victims in double-fatal crash identified
UPDATE:
El Paso Police have identified the two people killed in a three-vehicle crash Wednesday morning. This happened around 10 a.m. on Interstate 10 East near Transmountain Road.
Special Traffic Investigators said the three vehicles involved were traveling in the left lane when a Dodge Ram, followed by a Honda CRV, slowed for construction vehicles that were ahead.
Investigators stated the distracted driver of the Kia Sorrento collided with the Honda CRV which then struck the Dodge Ram.
The driver and passenger of the Honda CRV, 79-year-old Larry Roberts and 76-year-old Sylvia Roberts, died at the scene. The other passenger 50-year old Robin Roberts sustained serious injuries.
Roberts was transported to University Medical Center.
The driver of the Kia, 55-year-old Kevin Jack Key, was transported to Las Palmas Hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the Dodge Ram was uninjured.
No charges have been filed.

Interstate 10 reopened nearly six hours after two people were killed in a crash Wednesday morning near Transmountain Road in Northwest El Paso.
In a tweet, the El Paso Police Department confirmed “two fatalities” and said a third person was taken to University Medical Center with serious injuries.
The three-vehicle crash, which happened about 10 a.m. , shut down the eastbound lanes of I-10 and backed up traffic for more than a mile. Cleanup wast expected to take several hours.
