Aggies clinch share of WAC Title with win over Chicago St.

Led by a season-high 22 points from freshman Brooke Salas, the NM State women’s basketball clinched a tie for the Western Athletic Conference regular-season title on Saturday with its 76-63 win over Chicago State.

The Aggies were able to clinch a tie for the regular-season title thanks to UMKC’s, 59-57, victory over UT Rio Grande Valley on the road. NM Still now just needs to win one of its next four games to clinch the No. 1 seed at the WAC Tournament and win the regular-season title outright.

New Mexico State now hits the road for the last time this season for a pair of games on the west coast. First up will be CSU Bakersfield, who spoiled NM State’s undefeated season last year at the Icardo Center on Thursday , Feb. 18, at 8 p.m. (MT). A couple days later, the Aggies will play Seattle U on Saturday , Feb. 20, at 8 p.m. (MT).
