Good Morning El Paso: MECHS PSA competition

college high schoool will soon be on their way to compete at the state level this week. their mission: to make an impact with a public service announcement on why not being physically active can kill you. good morning el paso’s denise olivas is live to tell us all about it..denise? the students are part of health occupations students of america– or hosa– is a national organization recognized by the department of education. they were given one phrase– “sittin is death– it’s all about physical activity.” the team made up of juniors and seniors had to creatively portray that theme in a 30 second psa: “we want to educate people from different ages and different ethnicities” adriana mares and the rest of her team put this video together and won first place in the local competition last month. tomorrow they travel to galveston for the state competition. this video was shot and edited by them as well. the psa is meant to send a strong message about the consequences of not living an active lifestyle– and could ultimately lead to serious illnesses or death: 2:29–2:42 “as future professionals we need to keep this in mind, its an issue that’s controlling our world right now and its important for people to be physically active” there is another challenge that will help the team win at state. i’ll tell you how you can help them in our next half hour.
