a portion of zaragoza is reopen this morning after someone was hit by a car overnight. the latest from our ’round the clock news team. worry again this morning — as students and parents wait and see if las cruces school bus drivers will go on strike. and the affluenza teen — set to appear in adult court. and he is expected to face more charges. a very good morning el paso, las cruces, and juarez. i’m stephanie valle. thanks for watching us on air and online. and i’m hillary floren. good morning, everyone. westerly winds will bring warmer dry weather to southern new mexico and west texas today through friday. however a deep low pressure system will move very slowly across the rocky mountains and this disturbance will cause windy conditions on friday followed by cooler weather along with a few rain showers this weekend. high pressure will produce warmer mostly dry weather monday and tuesday. now to ’round the clock news from east el paso …. no word if the driver of a car that hit a pedestrian will face charges. it now to ’round the clock news from east el paso .. no word if the driver of a car that hit a pedestrian will face charges. it happened on the 14- hundred block of zaragoza around 11 p.m. last night. emergency dispatchers tell abc-7 the person hit was taken to del sol medical center with serious injuries. special traffic investigators were called out around 1 in the morning. zaragoza was blocked off between don haskins and physicians drive overnight. it is now open. the driver and the person hit have not been identified. / another anxious morning for students and parents in las cruces today. it is once again unclear if school bus drivers will go on strike. from our new mexico mobile newsroom … the bus drivers say a strike is eminent. a union rep says no progress has been made during contract negotiations with s- t-s — the transportation company hired by las cruces public schools. the union says its members want better pay, safer buses, and fewer students per bus. the school district says parents should continue to monitor its website for updates. also from our new mexico mobile newsroom happening today—don’t be alarmed if you see a fire near the east portion of the organ mountains. firefighters from fort bliss will be doing a prescribed burn on the do?a ana range complex today. that’s near chaparral. the idea is to create a firebreak where wildfires have historically been common in the past. happening today — ethan couch, the so-called “affluenz teen,” will be appearing in adult court in fort worth. couch is facing more jail time as part of the conditions of his adult probation. couch, who turned 19 on monday, was given 10 years probation for causing a crash while drunk back in 20-13. the crash killed four people and left two other severely injured. couch’s mother fled to mexico with him in december — after an online video surfaced of him at a party — which may have been a probation violation. couch has been in custody here in texas since january. new this morning– doctors at a south texas hospital says they have successfully separated two 10- month-old sisters who were born conjoined below the waist. the 15-hour long operation began yesterday. ximena and scarlett hernandez-torres shared a colon and bladders that will need to be constructed. their identical triplet sister, catalina, was born without any serious health issues. the hospital staff at the corpus christi facility has cared for the girls since birth. a hospital statement says doctors have a positive outlook for the children’s recovery. the girls will require additional surgeries as they grow. new this morning — a future home for kids-n-company is still up in the air — after it was forced to move out of its longtime home. good morning el paso’s denise olivas is live with the latest…denise?
