Two arrests made in east El Paso shooting

UPDATE: El Paso Police have made two arrests in Sunday’s shooting that left one person injured. This happened around 6:30 p.m. on the 11600 block of Rojas in east El Paso at the Paseo Parks Apartments.

Police said officers when responded to a shots fired call, they discovered 27-year-old Nathaniel Jones had been shot. He was taken to Del Sol Medical Center where he is listed in stable condition.

The next day, officers from the gang unit arrested 24-year-old Derrick Lattimore and 29-year-old Anthony Jones for Aggravated Robbery. Police said it’s SWAT team arrested Lattimore without incident as he was leaving his house. Jones was later arrested in Las Cruces, New Mexico with the assistance of Dona Ana Sheriffs, FBI, and U.S. Marshals.

Lattimore was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility with a bond of $250,000. Jones was booked into the Dona Ana Detection facility and is awaiting extradition.

The Gang Unit’s investigation revealed that robbery was the motive for the shooting of Nathaniel Jones. The victim 27-year old Nathaniel Jones remains in stable condition at Del Sol Medical center.

El Paso Police are investigating a shooting that sent a man to the hospital Sunday night.

It happened at the Paseo Parks Apartments on the 11000 block of Rojas near Pendale in east El Paso. Police said the victim was taken to Del Sol Medical Center with serious injuries. Police said the gang unit is investigating.
