El Paso Chihuahuas first home series Friday night

opener at southwest unversity park! that’s where we find good morning el paso’s denise olivas …denise? in just a few hours– the stadium will once again welcome thousands of fans for the first official game of the season. there is a lot to look forward to– this past week brad taylor, general manager of the chihuahuas talked to abc-7 about the fan experience this season. beginning with opening night– the chihuahuas will give out rally towels to the first eight- thousand guests with a paid admission. on saturday– the first fireworks spectacular of the season– sponsored by kvia. sunday is kids day– all kids get to run the bases after the game. come monday– the first 35-hundred attendees will get a magnet schedule of the chihuahuas season. a new promo coming up– t-shirt tuesdays– the first two-thousand fans will get a limited edition t-shirt. on wednesdays– seniors eat free. and thrifty thursday returns with $2- dollar 12-ounce beers, soft drinks, popcorn and $2 chihua’rrrines. the chihuahuas are introducing a new way to get interactive on social media with the social square. we’ll tell you all about that in our next half hour. what won’t be making a return is the park & ride service sun metro provided the last two seasons. you’ll have to get here early to find parking. happening tomorrow…a big party to celebrate the long-awaited new and improved san jacinto plaza. the wait was a lot longer than perhaps any of us expected. the question now … was it worth it? the media got a sneak peak yesterday. the public will finally be allowed to enter at 9-30 in the morning tomorrow. a historic church in the lower
