77-year-old man accused of robbing Alamogordo bank with gun
Police say a 77-year-old man is accused of robbing an Alamogordo bank at gunpoint.
Authorities say Anthony Ferdico has been booked on charges of armed robbery, kidnapping and possession of a firearm by a felon.
The alleged robbery occurred Thursday around 12:30 p.m. at Security Finance.
According to witnesses, Ferdico came into the business and brandished a firearm.
Ferdico allegedly demanded money and then left in a SUV before officers arrived.
A Border Patrol agent spotted the SUV nearby and followed it until police vehicles stopped it on Highway 54/70. Ferdico was subsequently arrested.
It was not immediately known if he had an attorney.
