Smash Mouth to perform at ‘Music Under the Stars’

Alternative rockers Smash Mouth will perform at “Music Under the Stars.”

The 2016 lineup for the annual summer music festival was released Tuesday.

The Museums & Cultural Affairs Department announced in March that the annual music series will be held at both the Chamizal National Memorial and Cohen Stadium in Northeast El Paso.

The move came after El Paso City Council approved funds to make improvements to Cohen Stadium for continued use. It was also a move to accommodate Fort Bliss Families, a lot of whom live in Northeast El Paso.

The city also announced the 2016 lineup for the seventh annual “Dancing in the City” Downtown music series.

“We are excited to roll out this year’s line-up for for the 33rd Season of GECU presents Music Under the Stars and the 7th season of Dancing in the City,” MCAD Assistant Director Ben Fyffe said in a news release. “These two events have become summertime staples which we are proud to continue as part of the city’s commitment to enhancing El Paso’s quality of life.”
