Chihuahuas lose series opener on the road in Vegas
LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The El Paso Chihuahuas dropped the first game of their brief road trip to Las Vegas, falling to the 51s 6-4 on Tuesday night at Cashman Field.
After the Chihuahuas’ first two batters of the game reached base, the team went ahead 1-0 on Diego Goris’ RBI groundout. El Paso added two more tallies in the third on a ground ball into a double play with a runner at third and Hunter Renfroe’s RBI double to go ahead 3-0.
The Chihuahuas’ early lead was quickly erased by the 51s’ five-run third inning. Las Vegas batted around in the frame, collecting four hits, while also taking advantage of a walk and an El Paso defensive miscue.
