New Mexico Governor not ready to endorse Trump, yet
New Mexico Governor Susana Martinez would not say whether she is endorsing Donald Trump, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee.
Friday, the governor spoke briefly with ABC-7’s New Mexico Mobile Newsroom at an education event in Las Cruces.
Martinez asked: “What does (Trump) intend to do for New Mexicans? We have four national labs, we have four military bases and we’re a border state.”
The Republican governor said she wants to hear Trump’s ideas on national security.
“Our national labs and our military bases are extremely important to our national security,” Martinez said, “I wan to make sure that they stay here and that they are the best of the best. I want to hear those ideas and how he plans to keep them open. New Mexicans deserve to know those plans.”
When pressed about an endorsement, the governor said one thing is clear: “I’m not voting for Hillary Clinton. I will not be endorsing Hillary Clinton.”
