Dog found in Deming heading home to Michigan

A pit bull is heading back to Michigan after being lost along I-10 west near Deming.

According to the owner, Brutus jumped out of a broken window and fled to the desert following a crash along the interstate.

The owner, Lisa Owens, could not find Brutus before returning home to Michigan.

Volunteers with Deming Animal Guardians searched a week after the accident and found Brutus. He has received care and is heading back to Michigan thanks to Pets on Board, a national animal transport company.

Owens said, ” I will never be able to say thank you enough to all the people who have helped me.”
