ABC-7 Listens 06.05.16

a viewers wants to know. here’s rick cabrera with abc-7 listens. one of the many daily challenges here at abc-7 is to be as brief as possible while also sharing as much information as possible. that’s not always an easy task … but there are ways around it. from fidel … “i was born here in el paso, but moved to california in the 60s, just retired and moved back. “watching the news and heard th phrase the border land , when did you start calling el paso that? “that sounds awful does that refer to all border towns even san diego, ca? “can we just b called el paso, el paso please?” fidel when we ar talking about el paso … that’s fine. but we sit at the intersection of 2 nations and three states … and many times we have to be more general when talking about a coldfront passing through or situation impacting numerous areas not just el paso … like clint … canutillo … horizon city … vado … chaparral … even las cruces and juarez. so, for the sake of brevity we use borderland … and we aren’t the only ones … i hear it all over town. as far as when this started happening … i moved here nearly 17 years ago and i’ve heard it … and actually like it … since the day i arrived in the borderland. rick cabrera. abc-7 listens. a ridge of high pressure aloft will slowly build east over new mexico by monday and tuesday. low
