valencia is coming to an end. a jury sentenced him to 60 years in prison last night. valencia was found guilty for the shooting death of his classmate — 18-year-old aaron ochoa — in 2014. it happened at rio grande drive and stanton street, about two blocks from where the two attended school at the paso del norte academy. during closing arguments, prosecutors urged the jury “keep him out of the streets and leave him in jail” adding, “he does no belong in the community.” his lawyers had described him as a quote: “kid who could rebuild his life if they let him get out.” today looks to be another unsettling day for world financial markets. on monday, the british pound sank to a 31 year low. the dow jones industrial average closed monday nearly 900 points lower than it was before the u-k voted to leave the european union. global markets have lost a record three trillion dollars since the vote. european politicans are now trying to determine what comes next after the u-k’s brexit
