Schizophrenic man missing for three weeks

A 20-year-old man has been missing for three weeks when Adrian Orozco walked out of his house in San Elizario and hasn’t been seen since. Now his family and the El Paso Sheriff’s office are asking the community for help, and what worries them the most about his three-week disappearance is his untreated schizophrenia

“He’s a mental patient, so he might not remember how to go home and has no ID with him,” said Connie hernandez, Orozco’s aunt.

Their worries center on his schizophrenia, since Orozco doesn’t have his medication with him, and how he could act if a stranger tries to help or take advantage of him

“He really doesn’t want to be touched, either, he’s kind of squeamish. If you want to hold him, or touch him, or even if an officer were to grab him or something he might retaliate because he doesn’t want to be touched,” Hernandez explained.

They’ve been spreading pictures and posters of Orozco around town. His mother is even going to check Juarez jails and speak with police, in case he crossed the border. For now his family has just one message for the community: a plea for help.

“We’re hoping and praying that someone will see him out there and notify us,” said Mary Sotelo, another aunt.

“If he’s out there, if you guys could please help us out. Um, we’re here for you Adrian, and you’re not alone buddy, we all want to help you out,” said Leon Hernandez, one of Orozco’s cousins.

If you see Adrian Orozco or know anything about where he could be please call the Sheriff’s office at (915) 546-2280 or you can call 911
