El Paso Electric to Pokmon GO players: Don’t trespass

Yet another warning to users of the wildly popular Pokmon GO smartphone app.

El Paso Electric is reminding users to stay safe around the utility’s electric equipment and facilities.

In a news release, EPE issued the following tips:

Substations are dangerous; do not enter them or attempt to climb over fences Do not trespass or enter onto EPE property that is not permitted Be cautious of your surroundings and stay away from any EPE equipment such as power lines, transformers, etc. when playing Trees can pose a danger, before climbing a tree, check for nearby power lines

The spokesman for El Paso Electric told ABC-7 that while it has heard that some of the game’s characters have appeared on its properties, it has not received any reports of injuries.
