One person injured in stabbing in Las Cruces; no suspect in custody

One man was injured Thursday evening following a stabbing in Las Cruces, New Mexico.

This happened on 900 block of West Amador in west Las Cruces around 7 p.m. The area is a paved parking lot between the Horse and Hound Supply store and the Community of Hope homeless shelter.

Las Cruces Police said the victim suffered multiple stab wounds. Our New Mexico Mobile Newsroom said the victim could be seen sitting up on a stretcher, and the injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.

The victim was put into an air ambulance and was flown to University Medical Center for treatment.

One individual on scene was identifying himself as a family member. He could be heard calling out to the victim.

Police said no one is in custody as of yet.
