Medical Examiner: Alejandra Arango died from “homicidal violence”
The jury in the Adrian Garcia murder trial listened to testimony from the medical examiner who performed Alejandra Arango’s autopsy.
Garcia is accused of strangling his ex-girlfriend because he was angry she broke up with him. Prosecutors argue he placed her body in a bathtub to make look like she drowned.

Dr. Mario Rascon told jurors Monday Arango died from “homicidal violence.” Ruptured blood vessels on victim’s face and eyes indicate “extraneous force” was applied to neck, the medical examiner said.
The jury was also shown graphic pictures of Arango’s lifeless body, used to show the ruptured blood vessels on the victim’s face and eyes.
Under cross-examination by the defense, Dr. Rascon was asked why Garcia did not have “defensive” markings or wounds on his body. If Arango was strangled, Garcia should have had injuries or markings if the victim resisted.
The defense went on to question the Dr. Rascon’s for more than four hours on his credentials, certifications and his investigative findings
The trial is scheduled to resume at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.
