Miners enter week 2 of training camp in Ruidoso

The UTEP Miners enter week 2 of training camp in Ruidoso after it’s first team scrimmage on Tuesday.

Aaron Jones is leading the team as he returns to the practice field after recovering from a broken ankle last season.

“It’s exciting to be back,” Jones said. “I mean I only played two games last year and had to watch, so I am excited to be back out here with my guys, my family.”

Both Kavika Johnson and Zack Greenlee threw a touchdown pass in the team scrimmage in both the red zone drill and the 2 minute drill.

The Miners still have one final scrimmage on Saturday Aug. 14. ABC-7 will be in Ruidoso Tuesday, Aug. 9 and Wednesday, Aug. 10, so be sure to follow ABC-7 Sports on social media for the very latest at training camp.
