Alleged members of Bandidos Motorcycle Gang charged in East Side fight
Police arrested three purported members the local Bandidos Motorcycle Gang after a fight at an East Side strip mall.
Officers responded to a fight involving weapons about 9 p.m. Wednesday Aug. 3 on the 2200 block of N. Zaragosa, police said.
Investigators with the El Paso Police Department’s Gang Unit said 60-year-old Juan Martinez, 32-year-old Thomas DeCarlo, 45-year-old James Heredia and others confronted at least one member of a motorcycle club and another man, and allegedly beat them with bats and clubs.
Officers recovered four guns, three bats and an expandable baton during the investigation, police said.
Martinez, DeCarlo and Heredia allegedly took one of the victims’ cellphone. They were charged with engaging in organized criminal activity and robbery.
Gang investigators identified Martinez as the president, Heredia as the sergeant at arms, and DeCarlo as the secretary of the local Bandidos Motorcycle Gang.
The were booked in the El Paso County jail with bonds ranging from $60,000 to $75,000.
